Collaborating with influencers to increase sales

The new generation spends a lot of time on social media, which has led to the emergence of new professions, notably that of influencer or content creator. Influencer marketing has become an essential strategy for businesses, enabling effective promotion of products or services. According to Wikipedia, influencer marketing relies on opinion leaders to promote a product or ideology, influencing consumer behavior.

There are several types of influencers, classified by their audience and fame: nano-influencers, micro-influencers, macro-influencers, mega-influencers, and celebrity influencers. Influencers cover various fields such as food, beauty, health, fashion, humor, etc. For businesses, collaborating with influencers can be a highly effective advertising strategy, as they allow precise targeting of consumers. An in-house study at the agency revealed that 90% of respondents have purchased a product or service following collaboration between a brand and an influencer.

Identifying nano and micro influencers

The first step is to find influencers who best fit your brand and target audience. While well-known influencers like Léna Situations, Squeezie, or Léa Elui may be tempting, nano and micro-influencers can sometimes be a better option. These influencers have smaller but highly engaged communities, establishing a close relationship of trust with their followers. This allows for more precise targeting of your prospects. It’s also crucial to research the influencer based on their offerings and ensure they haven’t been involved in controversies that could harm your brand’s image.

Setting clear objectives

Before launching a collaboration, it’s essential to define specific marketing and communication goals: increasing product sales, enhancing brand awareness, attracting new customers, retaining existing ones, etc. Clear objectives help develop a coherent campaign and measure its effectiveness more easily, facilitating identification and correction of any potential errors.

Collaborations with influencers are not free. Influencers expect compensation in exchange for promoting your brand. Given the competition among brands to attract influencers, it’s important to offer an attractive package. This may include substantial compensation, product promotions, free gifts, exclusive benefits, or products and services for early testing. Finding a mutually beneficial agreement is crucial.

Creating sincere and original content

Product presentations on camera have become commonplace and no longer automatically attract consumers. To stand out, it’s essential to collaborate closely with influencers by providing creative ideas to promote your product. Clearly define the desired content type (stories, reels, posts, videos, etc.) and let the influencer share their authentic experience with your products or services. Varying formats and offering honest and informative content is crucial for capturing internet users’ attention.

It’s also worth noting that maintaining long-term relationships with influencers can ensure a promising future for your brand. If a collaboration has been successful and produced satisfactory results, consider asking the influencer to promote other products and services. You can also propose the influencer become a brand ambassador, thereby enhancing loyalty and prioritization towards your brand.

To maximize advertising effectiveness, ask influencers to create clickable links when promoting your brand. These links directly direct customers to your e-commerce site, thereby enhancing the user experience by facilitating navigation and access to products or services. Using clickable links makes it easier to convert consumer interest into concrete sales.

Collaborating with influencers can significantly boost your sales by precisely targeting your consumers and increasing your brand visibility. By identifying the right influencers, setting clear objectives, creating an appealing value proposition, producing sincere and original content, nurturing long-term relationships, and using clickable links, you can maximize the impact of your influencer marketing campaigns and ensure their success.
