Founded in 1862, FENWICK has been, for more than 160 years, a French family-owned company diversified across 5 specialisations: Marine, Electronics, Industrial Products, Abrasion and Boutet (handles and clamping knobs).
Each of these 5 business areas is made up of autonomous departments that exclusively manage several product lines and have their own sales, monitoring and product-maintenance resources.
FENWICK operates not only in France but also, through its subsidiaries, in Italy (ALGAR in Milan), Spain and Portugal (FENWICK IBERICA in Barcelona) and the Benelux region (PRECITOOL FENWICK in Antwerp).
Since 1948, FENWICK’s Marine Department has distributed and provided after-sales service for outboard, inboard and electric marine engines, as well as generator sets and accessories, through distribution networks with a dedicated team trained for customer satisfaction. The brand offers a complete range of solutions for serene, enjoyable boating, with high-quality products of incomparable reliability.
FENWICK is a member of FIN, the French Marine Industries Federation.
Reseller portal and visual redesign.
The Fenwick team called on us to handle the redesign of their e-commerce site, with the mission of modernising the platform graphically and solving several functional issues. Their main objective: to boost the engine-parts purchasing system in order to make sales easier and increase them.
To modernise and optimise the experience offered to franchised professionals, we used Adobe Commerce (Magento) and the flexibility of the Hyvä theme.
It is a B2B portal reserved for resellers: they have an ergonomic interface to order parts — more than 60,000 references — as well as engines. Thanks to a connection with the ERP (Movex), they can also access the history of all their orders, whether placed through e-commerce or not.
Designed for a group present in several countries, the portal is multilingual, allowing subsidiaries and international resellers to use it in their own language.
We implemented several features designed around distributors’ real-world usage:
- Quick reference entry, since distributors know their references by heart;
- Navigation by filters and favourites, very popular with the group’s resellers;
- Real-time stock display; for products being restocked, an availability date is announced and honoured;
- Partial delivery based on the quantities available in stock;
- the ability to create order templates and draft orders;
- Warranty registration of a new engine, enabling distribution networks to manage their engine fleet and warranty coverage (engines being warrantied for more than 7 years);
- Easier access to technical documentation as well as a media library, so that resellers can showcase the products on their side.
