French excellence in the service of the elevator industry
Octé Group is above all a great story of a French family business that has managed to establish itself on a European scale. With 200 employees spread across France, Spain and Hong Kong, the group has been built around strong values: determination, solidarity, efficiency and simplicity. These principles translate on a daily basis into tailor-made solutions and services, designed to meet the most demanding requirements of the elevator sector.
This approach has enabled Octé to become the trusted partner of Europe’s leading names in the sector: Kone, Otis, Schindler, ThyssenKrupp and Orona (the “KOSTO”). These leaders rely on Octé’s expertise for their product procurement, delivered in large quantities throughout Europe.
A pioneer of digital in its field, Octé was quick to begin its transformation: as early as 2015 with the launch of a catalogue website, then in 2017 with the addition of an e-commerce function. A head start that is further confirmed today with an ambitious redesign.
Our involvement
When we took charge of Octé’s e-commerce project, the situation was clear: the existing Prestashop platform had reached its limits. While it had successfully supported the group’s early years of digital growth, it no longer met the demands of a complex multi-company B2B model, nor the expectations of professional users accustomed to greater fluidity and performance.
Pain points were piling up: unintuitive navigation, a suboptimal purchasing journey, and a user experience out of step with current e-commerce standards. Faced with these constraints, Octé made the strategic decision to undertake a complete redesign, with two clear objectives in mind: to deliver a flawless customer experience tailored to modern B2B uses, and to rely on a solid, scalable technological infrastructure capable of sustainably supporting the group’s growth.
A front end built with Hyvä Theme
Octé wanted a complete redesign of its e-commerce site to better inform visitors and convert more prospects into customers. With an extensive product catalogue, the main challenge was to make it accessible and precise: classification by category and by use, detailed product pages for all product variants (simple, configurable, complex) and a navigation system redesigned from A to Z.
Under Prestashop, the site lacked optimisation and accumulated friction points. We therefore opted for a complete redesign from scratch, migrating to Magento with the Hyvä Theme. This choice brought greater flexibility, fluidity and speed. On the design side, our team proposed new mockups for the product listing pages (PLP) and product detail pages (PDP), featuring a more personalised interface and new features such as a loyalty points system.
A B2B platform designed with a B2C mindset
Octé’s e-commerce site serves a diverse B2B ecosystem: SME lift installers, large accounts and non-sector B2B clients (hospitals, technical departments, various businesses). The new platform was designed to adapt precisely to each profile.
Beyond the catalogue, each logged-in customer has access to a genuine management space: a consolidated view of orders (web + ERP), access to technical documents and product manuals, management of multiple delivery addresses, tracking of favourites and loyalty points, and direct contact with their dedicated sales representative. All within an interface that borrows the codes of B2C: simple, visual, intuitive. Because B2B deserves an experience on par with the best consumer-facing websites.
Commercial performance and long-term vision
The new site was designed as a sales and customer relationship tool, structured around five pillars: a comprehensive and intelligent catalogue, a deep integration with the Divalto ERP to synchronise stock and orders in real time, complete and accessible product pages, a purchasing journey optimised both technically and ergonomically to turn visits into sales, and finally a platform that serves as a point of contact with Octé’s teams to support special requests and provide expert advice.
From day one, the platform is fully operational with stock management and business rules specific to the store. And the architecture put in place allows the future to be approached with confidence: dropshipping, marketplace integration, opening of new markets. A solid foundation to support Octé’s long-term growth, with an ambitious target of 30% revenue growth. Today, the group has an e-commerce platform worthy of its ambitions, supporting its development and reinforcing its position as a leader in its sector.
