Apero Dev : the place to be !
How many times have you felt the urge to expand your network ? To meet digital experts who share the same passion as you? To discuss topics that matter to you, share your experiences, dreams, and ambitions, all over a drink and a tarte flambée in a city as vibrant as Strasbourg?
This is the spirit behind the creation of Apéro Dev. An original and unique concept in Strasbourg, designed to bring together experienced developers, students, and digital experts for an evening of connection, exchange, and professional network building.
Far from the traditional settings of recruitment fairs, our Apéro Dev events take place in the most lively and popular bars in the city, offering a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Whether you’re looking for an internship, an apprenticeship, a job, a company to collaborate with, or simply want to make new connections, Apéro Dev is the place to be!
a first edition
In November 2022, we hosted our very first Apéro Dev event in partnership with Numéric Emploi Grand-Est. This event took place in the cellar of the Brasserie Meteor in Strasbourg, where we had the pleasure of welcoming over 130 enthusiasts.
At the heart of Strasbourg, this evening brought together developers, whether beginners, experienced, or senior, to engage in discussions on web development, design, technology, and coding, all within a warm and dynamic atmosphere.
The evening featured three sessions of Code in the Dark, a popular challenge in Canada that combines efficiency, stress management, and speed.
The concept? A webpage is revealed, and participants have 15 minutes to recreate it using only HTML or CSS… completely blind! Meanwhile, only the spectators can see their progress in real-time. Developers only discover their own work once the time is up. The developer who recreates the webpage most accurately wins the session.
For this first edition, three developers stood out and walked away with a small gift to celebrate their victory!
A Sponsored Second Edition
In March 2023, we hosted a sponsored Apéro Dev session in collaboration with several companies, schools, and renowned experts in the digital sector.

- Codein : A leading agency in open-source digital engineering.
- CCI Campus : A training organization based in Strasbourg.
- Clever Cloud : Specialists in cloud computing.
- Digital Campus : A top school dedicated to digital careers.
- Mon domaine.alsace : A local company specializing in the Alsatian digital economy.
- O’Clock : A school specialized in remote training for developers.
- SensioLab : Creators and experts of Symfony.
Once again, this evening was a resounding success, with over 200 registrants! We were both surprised and incredibly proud to see how much this project had grown, exceeding all of our expectations.
The feedback from participants could not have been more encouraging: everyone praised the organization, the quality of the discussions, and the friendly atmosphere. With immense pride, we realized that the momentum had truly begun, and our project was coming to life.
The Third Edition at Délirium in Strasbourg
For the third edition in October 2023, we gathered over 150 participants, and it only confirmed the excitement surrounding our event!
Unlike previous editions, we decided to change the setting. This time, we set up our computers at the Délirium Café in Strasbourg, known for its festive and welcoming atmosphere.
The Delirium also allowed us to introduce a major new feature: a real stage, where the Code in the Dark competition took place. Several brave participants stepped up to take on the challenge.
This third edition once again proved that this event is a place of meeting, sharing, and exchanging, where the passion for digital and development brings together people from all walks of life. With each new edition, the Apéro Dev continues to grow and solidify its place in the tech ecosystem of Strasbourg.
what’s next ?
Since its inception, Apéro Dev has continued to grow, with a fourth edition in March 2024. What was once just an idea has now become an essential ritual.
Today, when we meet new prospects or potential future collaborators, they often know us thanks to Apéro Dev. This is especially true for students from schools where we regularly serve as jurors, a role that allows us to build even stronger connections with the next generation of talent.
This event, which keeps gaining momentum, is a tremendous source of pride for us. It was precisely the goal of these gatherings: to offer a game-changing concept that encourages sharing and, despite the digital and technological nature of our professions, promotes in-person connections. Connections with passionate individuals, future colleagues, students, and businesses, all within a warm and authentic atmosphere.
The success of Apéro Dev has also strengthened some of our internal projects, such as the Magento Academy. Thanks to this event and its synergy, we successfully trained three Magento developers, who have since joined us in permanent positions after completing their training with the dedicated certifier.
Our 5th edition took place on October 8th 2024 at the Meteor brewery, and more than 120 of you attended! 🧡
